About this production
A half-mask production of selected poems by the Chilean poet Manuel Silva Acevedo, satirising the contradictions of today’s consumer society. The production’s title refers to the Chilean refrain about necessity, which loosely translated means: need creates lawlessness.
It is this necessity, essential to and provoked by the hardships brought about by consumerism, that eventually transforms us into caricatures of ourselves.
